Eric Apaydin, PhD, MPP, MS is a health services researcher based in Los Angeles, CA. He is an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, a Core Investigator and Career Development Awardee at the Center for the Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation, and Policy (CSHIIP) in the Veterans Affairs (VA) Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and an Adjunct Policy Researcher at the RAND Corporation. Prior to this, he was an Advanced Postdoctoral Fellow in Health Services Research and Development in CSHIIP.
In his role at UCLA and the VA, he is conducts health care workforce research and systematic reviews. At RAND, he conducts reviews with both the Southern California Evidence Review Center and the VA Evidence Synthesis Program.
Dr. Apaydin received his PhD in policy analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School. His dissertation consisted of a mix of qualitative, quantitative, and systematic review work on physician satisfaction, job role, and income in the United States. He also earned an MPP in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MS in biology and a BS in animal physiology and neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. He was born in Iowa, grew up in San Diego, and currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Nicki, and puppy, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel named Beckett.
